2004 IVC winner Measha Brueggergosman sings Olympic Hymn

Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman (First Prize Winner IVC 2004) made a surprise appearance singing the Olympic Hymn during the raising of the Olympic flag at the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

On Saturday 13 March Measha performed Maurice Ravel’s song cycle Shéhérazade with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jaap van Zweden in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

Deutsche Grammophon recently released her second solo album Night and Dreams. Together with pianist Justus Zeyen Measha interprets well – and little-known – songs of Duparc, De Falla, Schubert, Hahn, Liszt, and others chosen for their soulful depth, variety, and beauty. Against the velvet of this music, Measha glitters like the star she is becoming. See Measha sing Le temps des lilas of Ernest Chausson (from the album Night and Dreams).
